Janelle & Brad

From high school sweethearts...

"Brad and I went to high school together. He was the year above me so we never spoke because I was too scared to talk to the older kids. He left when he finished year 10 to work in Bathurst. I stayed in my hometown to finish off year 12 before moving to Bathurst for university. We caught up for dinner one night and the rest is history! We have been together for almost ten years now. We have two children and have built a house in that time together."

One unexpected day...

I had an ACL reconstruction and was on crutches. He told me one Sunday 2nd December that he wanted to take the kids fishing at the Bridle Track. It’s something we do with the kids and go for a picnic down there and it’s just us. We were on our way and brad was so quiet I thought I must of annoyed him somehow because his responses was short and he was quiet on the drive out... So anyways I got my crutches and sat on the camp chair the whole time because it was rocky and a bit tricky to get around on the crutches. I was helping my son open a packet of shapes and turned around and brad was on one knee. I was so excited! It will be something that I will never forget and it was so us! It wasn’t some fancy expensive proposal that’s just not us.. I had my beautiful kids around me and it was a beautiful moment with no one around! It couldn’t have been more perfect and I found out later on that he was so nervous hence why he was so quiet.

The planning process...

"I got a lot of my theme ideas off Pinterest. I downloaded a wedding planner from Esty and the planner helped me with the planning process. I also received a lot of help from Neil Moralde my wedding videographer, especially creating the timeline of the day."

A very special moment...

"You only get one day and I don’t regret it one bit because I got to enjoy every second of my day! Take a moment after the ceremony just you and your husband. I remember after the photos we went into a room away from everyone, the photographer, guests everyone, just to take it all in and enjoy a special moment with just the two of you.. a second to breathe"

Something to remember...

"Enjoy the planning process as you put so much time and effort into it and then on the day its gone in a flash! If your budget allows it, definitely hire a wedding planner on the day. There were a few last minute things and Ellee and Becc fixed them without any troubles and I didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day except enjoying my day!"
