Megan & James
Megan and James met through mutual friends at the pub and hit it off instantly.
James had planned a lovely weekend away in Wollongong for Megan's birthday. James had planned to pop the question to Megan that night at a beautiful seafood restaurant but while getting ready his nerves over took him and he go down on one knee right there in the hotel room and asked Megan to be his wife. Megan was completely surprised and of course, said yes!
The planning process...
The planning process was good!
We had a fair idea of the type of wedding we wanted straight away which made it easy. We were engaged for 2.5 years before we actually tied the knot so we had plenty of time to get organised and felt like we were just playing the waiting game a lot. I had a few moments of stress but I was pretty cool, calm and chilled for most of it and many people noticed that. I did most things myself and James was actually very happy when I began to delegate and give him jobs to do in the few months leading up to the wedding.
Planning a wedding during Covid was tough but I really just tried to not stress over the constant changes and restrictions, I just kept planning as if everything was going to be okay by March 2021 and kept everything crossed. Rebecca from Lulu & Lotti Event and Styling was fantastic in bringing our wedding dreams to life. It looked absolutely amazing and was everything we hoped for both at Logan Brae and Rydges Mount Panorama. Jessica, the Wedding Coordinator at Rydges Mount Panorama, was also amazing in making sure the day ran smoothly and was accommodating to anything we asked for and any changes we needed to make along the way.
The highlights of the day...
Our day was absolutely amazing, we couldn't of asked for a better day and would not have changed a thing. Our theme was Dusty Rose, Silver with Greenery/Florals.
The ceremony was held outside on the grounds of Logan Brae in Bathurst. We had a beautiful setup with Tiffany chairs, an arbor with draping and beautiful florals. Simple but elegant. The weather was beautiful, sun was shining but it wasn't hot. We had photos taken on the grounds of Logan Brae as well and then were lucky enough to access a private property within Bathurst with stunning gardens to get bridal party photos.
The reception was held at Rydges Mount Panorama. We had an all inclusive package which was very handy and made life so much easier. A 3 course meal was served and the food was delicious! The decorating was included in our package and supplied by Lulu & Lotti. Everyone was really easy to work with.
Adrian Aldag - Dude Behind The Lens was our photographer. He works independently and not only takes photos of before, during and after but also videos important parts of the day as well. I don't know how he does it but he does fantastic work. We had our ceremony, speeches and first dance videoed by Adrian as well as photos from getting ready right through to the dancing at the reception.
The bouquets were artificial and created by Cheree's Flowers. They looked exactly like the photos I sent her of what I was wanting and the quality is really good. I love that I have my bouquet on display in my house now :)
Our celebrant was Kirralee Burke. She is absolutely fabulous and made the run of the ceremony so easy for quite a shy and nervous couple.
Tanya from Imperfectly Perfect Sugar Cookies makes the absolute best cookies ever! She made the cookies for both my bridesmaids boxes and to put on the tables for our wedding guests. Tanya is really easy to deal with, All I had to do was send through a picture of a few design ideas and just let her do her thing.
The highlights of the day...
The highlight for both of us was our first dance as husband and wife and just the first moment that we got alone with each other after finally becoming husband and wife :)
We really enjoyed the whole day though. Getting ready was just really chilled and relaxing.
The ceremony was short and sweet which was exactly what we wanted as we are both quite shy.
The reception was smooth sailing and so much FUN. It looked like everyone was having so much fun up dancing once all the formalities were over which is what we wanted to see.
Don't sweat the small stuff.......
Its not a lie when people say your wedding day fly's by so just really enjoy it and don't sweat the small stuff! So much planning and organisation goes into a wedding and its a little sad when its all of a sudden over so just enjoy it.
Being a perfectionist, I spent months and months overthinking the smallest things and on the day I didn't give those small things a thought at all and was like why did I even stress about these things.
Make sure you spend one on one time with your now Husband/Wife on the day. We had quite a bit of alone time driving between venues, taking photos and dancing . We both really cherish being able to just be in the moment with each other and reminiscing on how amazing the day was so far.
